Implants can be treated with or without bone and tissue grafts; In addition to being necessary, after the healing of its surgical stage, which simulates the root of the tooth, the preparation of the prosthetic stage, which is the placement of the tooth on the implanted abutment.

- The healing time varies according to the planning and also the area treated: maxilla (upper) or mandible (lower)

It integrates several dental specialties to treat and restore oral health, function and aesthetics in patients with multiple dental problems.

- We restore tissue health by solving periodontal problems that can also be due to trauma due to wrong occlusion (bite), accentuated dental wear, poor hygiene and skeletal decompensations that can directly interfere with oral health, face and even respiratory problems.

- Oral rehabilitation is a treatment that aims to look at the patient as a whole, aiming at longevity and stability of any and all treatments recommended for the patient.

A thin layer of resin applied to the teeth to correct imperfections such as discolorations, small gaps, or subtle irregularities, improving the overall aesthetics of the smile.

-Rapid transformation

-Little to no wear on natural teeth

-Transformed and radiant look

Aesthetic procedures that adjust and improve facial proportions, using conservative and non-permanent (absorbable) techniques such as fillers, threads, biostimulators to enhance skin quality, and botulinum toxin, aiming to highlight natural beauty in harmony with the new smile.

In addition, botulinum toxin is also used for functional purposes, such as treating bruxism/clenching/TMD by reducing muscle contraction strength when applied to the masseter, trapezius, and cervical areas, which can alleviate pain symptoms like headaches.

When teeth are misaligned, maintaining good oral hygiene becomes more challenging, increasing the likelihood of plaque buildup and problems like periodontal disease. This can lead to premature tooth loss. Misalignment also overburdens the muscles responsible for chewing, resulting in headaches, discomfort in the jaw joint, and, in some cases, pain in the neck, shoulders, and back. Additionally, teeth out of position affect aesthetics, especially when smiling.

What is orthodontics?

Orthodontics is a dental specialty dedicated to correcting improper positioning of the teeth and jawbones, with the goal of improving both chewing and the harmony of the smile.

How does orthodontic treatment work?

Orthodontic treatment is performed using appliances that apply gradual force to the teeth, moving them and promoting proper alignment through the ligaments and supporting bone. This process not only improves the appearance of the smile but also contributes to oral health, helping keep teeth in optimal condition throughout life.

The orthodontist conducts a detailed analysis of the bite, the positioning of the teeth, and the jaw to recommend the best treatment for each patient. There are various appliance options, including self-ligating brackets and removable ones, like Invisalign. These treatments are effective for both children and adults, with approaches tailored to each age group. Aesthetic orthodontics is an excellent option for those who want to enhance their smile and health in a lasting way.

What is the procedure?

The treatment for Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD) aims to relieve pain and symptoms associated with issues in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and surrounding muscles. TMD can cause headaches, facial pain, jaw clicking, and even difficulty chewing or opening the mouth. Treatments vary depending on severity and may involve oral devices, manual therapies, or muscle relaxation techniques, with the goal of restoring joint balance.

How does it work?

The treatment process begins with a thorough clinical evaluation, including imaging tests if necessary, to assess the extent of TMD. In mild cases, treatment may include self-care techniques such as jaw exercises and compresses. For more complex cases, oral devices (like relaxation splints) are used to reduce pressure on the TMJ and properly align the jaw. Other methods may include physical therapy, medication to reduce pain and inflammation, and in rare cases, surgical intervention.

What is the postoperative period like?

TMD treatment rarely requires surgery, but if intervention is needed, postoperative care involves rest and specific joint care, including cold compresses, a soft diet, and avoiding wide jaw movements. For non-invasive treatments, such as the use of splints or manual therapies, "postoperative" refers to the adjustment period for the device or new symptom control techniques.

Is the procedure painful?

The treatment itself is not painful. Oral devices are comfortable for most patients, though there may be an adjustment period during which the jaw or facial muscles may feel slightly uncomfortable. Manual therapies, if indicated, may cause a slight sensation of pressure during sessions but are not painful. If surgery is required, it is performed under anesthesia.

Advantages

The main benefits of TMD treatment include:

-Pain relief: reduces pain in the joint, facial muscles, and even associated headaches.
-Improved jaw function: helps restore natural jaw movements, facilitating chewing and speaking.
-Quality of life: TMD symptoms can affect well-being, and treatment reduces discomfort that impacts daily life.
-Personalization: treatment is tailored to the patient’s specific needs, offering options from devices to targeted therapies.

Durability

The duration of benefits depends on the patient’s commitment to following dental recommendations. Oral devices, such as relaxation splints, must be used as directed, and exercises and self-care techniques help ensure lasting results. With proper care, many patients maintain symptom relief permanently or in the long term, preventing recurrences.

Contraindications

TMD treatment is generally safe for most patients, but there may be contraindications in cases of:

-Severe oral health issues: dental or gum infections that must be treated beforehand.
-Allergies or material intolerances: especially for devices containing metals or acrylics.
-Complex systemic conditions: diseases that affect healing or increase inflammation risks may require adjusted approaches.

In summary, TMD treatment provides effective symptom relief and improves jaw functionality, with personalized and non-invasive approaches for most patients.
